Mission accomplished

After going through so much of drafting, editing and rewriting sessions....I finished my 3rd assignment for Dr Malachi Edwin which is writing a research paper. Although I am very busy with my THEATRE preparation, I need to give a few of my time to post something here so that there will be a smooth flow. The research paper really .... TOUGH... feel like crying when doing IT. Need to do lot..lotsa things... Tough moments indeed... but at last, I managed to endure all. I have done my very best for the blog, position paper and finally my research paper.

Both poems tell us that good things never last for long,thus we must not take things for granted, instead we should learn to appreciate things around us, LIVING LIVES TO THE FULLEST, with no regrets!

Extremely beautiful and deep poems....

Hi...bloggy.. I am back to give my opinion.

I really believe that both poems have given me a great understanding of the human nature. I think both poems address youth, wealth, other early beginnings, and most of all anything beautiful. The poets express the need to let go, to let nature run its course and accept what is meant to be since greater tradegy lies in those who grasp for what is lose seeking to be young when they are old. Young teens sometimes rebel against parents and society.

I am not a poet, I’m not an extremely literate person at all. But poetry IS what you want it to be. To me both poems are a life cycle. The poets are using nature to represent the life. Be it human or not, from birth to death. Or from life to death.

Talking about the beauty of life, to the grief of death, and how quickly it can all end. The last line reminding me that nothing can live forever.

Nature is the theme

Robert Frost’s poems are extremely beautiful and deep in that he has a
great understanding of the human nature. This poem “Nothing Gold Can Stay” has many different levels to it and can be interpreted many ways indeed. Frost has used the word nature to begin his poem...

The poem is based on the thought of nature’s life cycle and how it (nature) represents so much of our lives and always has.. To compare and contrast, Robert Herrick famous poem, "To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time". He uses nature to convey the fleeting nature of time and express that we need to make the most of life while we may.

As for my opinion, to some people, God, death, reward, punishment, Heaven and Hell are mere illusions. Meanwhile to others, only death is certain, so they need not bother with things beyond their comprehension. Still to many others, they do believe in Divine presence and know of His teachings, but prefer to ignore it, hoping for a last-minute reprieve when they lay dying...

Frost and Herrick really appreciate God's creation and they lay their sincere gratttude through their poem's talents.

Research paper calling....

Hmmm.... All aboutFrost's and Herrick's poem.... a hidden message from two great poets actually , that what I think their poems are all about.....

The opening line--"Nature's first green is gold"--is extremely ambiguous. It could mean either that nature's first green in the springtime has now turned to autumnal gold or that nature's first growth is golden, or precious, because it lasts such a short time, cannot hold its color and fades as soon as the leaves fall in autumn.

This is such a great poem. I love it so much. I know it line by line. This poem means that when we have something or someone we should apreciate it and take adventage of it, because it won't last forever. Once it's gone we will know how much we wanted it and needed it and we'll be sorry we never really noticed it. The same goes with Herrick's when he talks about 'virgin'...

Research paper in process

My comments for Herrick poem is regarding the virgin. Virgins are a dying breed in today's world. In the west, some girls hardly out of puberty cannot wait to be deflowered for the simple reason that it is not "cool" to remain a virgin. I have the utmost respect for virgins who remain chaste because they feel virginity should only be given to that very special person in their life - the man they marry. Virginity is akin to self-respect. A woman who respects herself will not submit willy-nilly to any man who comes along just because of the need to experience sex. But now in our country Malaysia we are having the same scenarios. Our youth tend to ignore the value of virginity.

A moment of grieve...

I have been told that my beloved tutor,
Puan Rokiah Ahmad passed away.....

I felt that I would not be able to produce a good piece of work without her being my great motivator. Her style of caring and concern towards me as her student has really helped me a lot while writing this
paper. Need a few days to gain my strength back..

About blank....and time is running very fast....

Another day has gone... I am still crawling to finish up my final assignmert for EDU 3234. To find evidence in the poems is quite difficult for me especially parts where I have to relate the chemistry between my opinion and the authors view...

I need to reconsider many things. It seemed that sometimes my words are not good enough to my own satisfactory. This is what I am scared of. How I can make my lecturer love my research paper if i myself dont know how to impress my myself.

Meanwhile, as for Robert Herrick famous poem, "To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time", he used nature to convey the fleeting nature of time and express that we need to make the most of life while we may. He reminded young women how fleeting their beauty is. The opening stanza follows: Gather ye rosebuds while ye may, Old Time is still a-flying: And this same flower that smiles today, tomorrow will be dying. He is also advising people to take advantage of life while they are young.

My next steps would be, to peel off the poems by both poets and put my points and ideas in order to compare and contrast the similarities and differences found in the selected poems. Arghh....need to give more effort to complete this paper.... Time is running fast indeed...

Identifying topic, text and author to research on

After I have completed my thesis statement now I have to start writing a research paper. I have been told that writing a research paper would be more challenging compare to writing a position paper. A research paper requires me to do research more than the citation of authorities. I am required to collect and interpret evidence and also include the opinions of early investigators. If that the case, what I need to do is to put all my effort in order to complete my research paper because I must have references and I must also cite my sources.
