Just a thought....2
Pity huh...."Edna silly decision"
Back to her reality though: I believe she is unsure if she wants that one true love (supposedly Robert) or if she just wants anyone who will pay her a little attention and is fun (supposedly Alcee Arobin).
Edna wants to be Wild and Free, not saying that there is anything wrong with that, but she needs to recognize it for what it is because she is really fooling herself.
Edna’s husband is looking for the all devoted wife and mother and Edna is looking for anything that’s not conforming. She is a young woman who is full of dreams and emotions. She has an extreme sexual desire, indolence romance, and desire for adventure. For instance, "Edna began to feel like one who awakens gradually out of a dream (Chopin 53)." Due to Robert Lebrun’s presence, Edna begins to assert herself to her husband..
As we all know that, freedom is control of self. It is a mental condition of the spirit. The essence of our "self" is our mind, soul and spirit. All of us are free, but we choose to acknowledge it. We all are always free to change our thoughts, improve our knowledge, understanding and change our attitudes and beliefs-the inner part of each of us....
The process of writing this position paper is making me enjoying every parts of the story and the arguments I created....Lol... Now I have a few points to elaborate...but I will not condemned Edna's foolish decision... but I want to write about Edna's feelings.... and what made her to act such a way...
